Steven Wells is the Chairman of Datawave. He has been involved in submarine cable systems for 40 years and studied mechanical engineering, as well as possessing a postgraduate degree Masters in Business. He worked in research and development for submarine systems for over 30 years, and was a key engineer in burial technology, optical repeater terminations, optical jointing and optical fibre packaging. He was Head of Operations for marine engineering and maintenance at BT with the responsibility of European and Far Eastern permits. He was also Director of Global Fibre Networks at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and was instrumental in numerous successful projects.

Peter Howard is the CEO of Datawave. He has over 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry (both operator and vendor), in UK based and overseas roles, and studied finance and international strategy and marketing. He led successful market development, marketing and sales activities for submarine cable systems in the Americas, Caribbean, Europe, Africa, the Indian Ocean and the Far East, with a combined value in excess of $3bn, and developed viability studies for a number of international systems, and market studies in support of the development of new products. Most recently he has acted for a number of operators in support of the purchase of submarine cable systems and in negotiating interconnection and strategic agreements.
